Summary
Matt Winter is an athletic catcher with a great work-ethic. Behind the "dish", Matt calls a good game, possesses a solid arm, but more importantly, works hard for his pitchers. Over the course of the 2011 season, Matt finished with only 1 passed ball. On the offensive side, Matt finished his senior season batting .303 and an on-base-percentage of .410. This summer, Matt has shown that he has a little pop in his bat as well, hitting a homerun in only his second game of the Arizona Summer League, a professional development league. Finally, Matt brings a toughness to the game as well. The past two season, Matt is among team leaders in hit-by-pitch. A hard-working young man with a pleasant attitude, Matt will be a valuable addition to any club.
