Summary
B.J. was a 4 year starter, and 3 year captain at Albany State University, an NCAA Division II school in Georgia. With the exception of his freshmen year where he started at 1B, he spent most of his time in the outfield or on the mound. Over his career, B.J. finished with a 3.45 ERA and 2 to 1 K/BB ratio. Although his fastball is consistently mid 80's, he relies heavily on his sinker, cutter and slider which makes his fastball even better. He was a 1st team all-conference pitcher in 2009. Over the last 3 years at the plate, he hit a combined .380 as a switch hitter and carried an on-base percentage in excess of .450. If it wasn't for a freak hamstring injury involving a broken outfield sprinkler this past year, there is a good chance that his numbers would have been even better. According to his coach, B. J. is a model student and model athlete that brings a great attitude to the field.
