Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to be placed?

Placement depends on the timing and needs of the clubs. The two busiest times of the year are February and March and August and September. Regardless, we work year-round to make new connections with clubs and/or teams to give our players as many chances to play as possible.

What does it cost to hire Teammates International?

Teammates International charges a $299 per placement fee. This fee lasts as long as it takes for us to place you. It covers the time that it takes to gather information about the player, create a bio, contact clubs, and work out the arrangements.

Are there any other costs?

Other costs that may be incurred during this process could include the following: purchasing your passport, work visa, immunizations, medical insurance, or processing international baseball forms. All these costs will vary depending on the club and country that you play for.

What are my chances of being placed?

Before accepting payment from any player, we take the time to talk with you and your coaches to figure out if you would be a likely candidate to be placed. However, no matter how careful we are in our selection process, there is always that chance that a player may not find a place to play.

What positions are clubs looking for?

For obvious reasons, the most highly sought after position is pitcher. Position players that can pitch and hit are also very valuable. If you do not have pitching experience, there are still places for you to play, we just have to look a little harder and it's a bit more competitive.

How good is the competition?

Teammates International works with a variety of teams/clubs at a variety of levels, everywhere from amateur to professional. Regardless, these leagues have good players that are looking to continue playing just like yourself.

Who pays for the plane ticket?

The cost of plane ticket, housing, and transportation all depend upon the club that we are working with. Some clubs simply cannot afford to cover all expenses of international players and so ask for players to purchase their own tickets whereas other clubs pick up all the expenses.

What can I do to increase my chances of being placed?

Many of the clubs that we work with operate on limited budgets. Athletes that are capable of picking up some of the expenses, such as airfare, have an easier time being placed than those that need all expenses covered.
